Sustainability & Ethics

Turning something which was once deemed irreparable and detrimental to our environment, into something functional and useful to our everyday lives

- Me For the Sea.

“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly..”

A word we are hearing used more and more each day by clothing brands both big and small. Being ethically and sustainably aware is becoming the market standard and I could not be happier to see this shift in the fashion industry!

As consumers (you awesome people reading this) are becoming more environmentally aware, the demand for products with minimal to zero impact on our beautiful planet is increasing. ‘Me For the Sea’ wants you to feel damn proud choosing our swim. Each fabric, material and of course our helping hands are thoughtfully and ethically chosen as we take on the responsibility to minimise our footprint on this earth. So, whilst you cast your vote with your purchase’s, heres what ‘Me For the Sea’ are doing to help protect our amazing world and the people in it …

Our Sustainability Commitments;

  • All of our designs are made from recycled plastic found in our oceans

  • Each design is made in a limited quantity to ensure conscious consumerism

  • Compostable garment bags and mailing satchels (NO plastic is used to package our garments after or during manufacturing)

  • All packaging used post-production is recyclable OR compostable i.e Hygiene Stickers, delivery, swing tags, branding.

  • Our recycled fabric uses 33-55% less energy and water than regular fabrics to create

  • Every piece is digitally cut ensuring no wasted fabric

I work closely with my beautiful team in China. Everyone is paid above the minimum wage and their working environment is extremely clean and safe as our place of production is 1 of 13 medically approved facilities and is above world-wide standards.

‘Me For the Sea’ promises to always put the earth and its people above the need for consumerism, as we endeavour to do our part to benefit our environment and communities.
